Department of Commerce (DoC), Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal in association with the Institute of Public Health, Bengaluru and Prasanna School of Public Health (PSPH), MAHE, Manipal organised a Workshop on Commercial Determinants of Health on Friday, January 17, 2025 (09:30 hours IST) in the AB 2, First Floor, MADCM Classroom, Department of Commerce (DoC), MAHE, Manipal.

Dr Upendra Bhojani (Senior Fellow [Professor Grade], Institute of Public Health, Bengaluru) was the resource person for the event.

Prof Dr Cherian Varghese (Director, PSPH, MAHE, Manipal) was the Chief Guest for the event.

The event was presided over by Dr Sandeep S Shenoy (Head, DoC, MAHE, Manipal).

The workshop was inaugurated by lighting the lamp. During the inauguration, Dr Cherian Varghese, Dr Sandeep S Shenoy, Dr Arathi Rao (HoD, Department of Global Public Health Policy and Governance [GPHPG], PSPH, MAHE, Manipal) addressed the participants and spoke regarding the topic of the workshop, how various products are marketed and sold, the impact these products have on the human health, the objectives of conducting such workshops.

Dr Arathi Rao delivered the vote of thanks.
